The Personal Information Protection Commission announced on the 28th that it activated an emergency response team immediately after the fire at the National Information Resources Service on the 26th and is currently working in cooperation with the National Information Resources Service to carry out recovery procedures. Due to this fire, access to the Commission’s website and related services is currently unavailable.

According to the Commission, the aftermath of the fire caused disruptions to seven public-facing online services, including the Commission’s main website, the Personal Information Portal, and the Dispute Mediation Committee. The Commission explained that, so far, there have been no signs of personal information leakage or breaches detected.

Additionally, if the Comprehensive Support System for Personal Information Protection is not restored by the 28th, the deadline for submitting evaluation materials for the 2025 Public Institution Personal Information Protection Level Assessment, originally set for the 30th of this month, will be extended.

A representative of the Commission stated, "We are doing our utmost to restore services as quickly as possible in cooperation with relevant agencies, and if any inconvenience in public service use is identified before the situation is resolved, the emergency response team will take immediate action."
