"Regulatory Improvements in the AI Era"... Inno-Biz Association Holds Meeting with SME Ombudsman

Discussion on Key Issues Including AI, Yellow Envelope Act, and Serious Accident Punishment Act

The Korea Association of Small and Medium Business Innovation (Inno-Biz Association) announced on the 16th that it held an on-site communication meeting with Inno-Biz entrepreneurs, together with Choi Seungjae, the Small and Medium Business Ombudsman, at the association's main conference room in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province.

This meeting was organized to listen to the voices of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the ground, in line with the government's ongoing artificial intelligence (AI) activation policy direction, as the importance of the manufacturing sector is once again highlighted amid global tariff negotiations. Key stakeholders, including Inno-Biz Association President Jung Kwangcheon and Ombudsman Choi Seungjae, attended the event.

During the meeting, participants discussed regulatory improvement measures to foster the growth of innovative SMEs and the spread of AI. The topics included: improving the Serious Accident Punishment Act to better reflect the realities of SMEs; introducing a TDM exemption system to improve AI data regulations; preparing measures to minimize the impact on SMEs from the implementation of the Yellow Envelope Act; and improving visa systems for foreign professionals in convergence technology research and development (R&D).

President Jung Kwangcheon stated, "Inno-Biz companies are the driving force behind innovation, preserving the roots of manufacturing while also leading in new technologies such as AI. As the importance of both manufacturing and AI continues to grow in today's challenging economic environment, I hope today's discussions will serve as a starting point to strengthen the future competitiveness of Inno-Biz companies."

Ombudsman Choi Seungjae commented, "It was meaningful to be able to share and rigorously discuss key issues facing Inno-Biz companies through this meeting. Since resolving internal and external uncertainties in business activities is more important than ever, I will continue to work with the Inno-Biz Association to seek and promote various solutions as the SME Ombudsman."
