Chosun University announced on September 15 that the RISE Project University Resource Sharing Center recently conducted the "Big Data Planner Professional Course."

This course, co-hosted by Chosun University and Gwangju City and organized by the Chosun University RISE Project University Resource Sharing Center, was designed to strengthen the big data analysis capabilities of local residents living in the era of digital transformation.

Participants ranged from young adults in their 20s to seniors in their 70s, spreading data literacy and utilization skills required in the digital transformation era across generations and establishing a foundation to put these skills into practice in daily life and the local community.

The trainees were divided into four teams and carried out team projects. By utilizing data from actual companies and public institutions, they directly identified regional issues and derived solutions, focusing on data understanding, collection and analysis, as well as visualization and utilization strategies.

This course has been recognized as a new educational model for regional innovation, as it presented practical cases where local residents directly participated and connected the outcomes to policy development or business planning. At the achievement-sharing session, the team "Namjahana Yeoja Net," which carried out the "Gwangju Apartment Transaction Data Analysis" project, was selected as the top team.

Shin Juhyun, a professor at the School of Future Convergence at Chosun University who planned the course, said, "Through this program, we were able to cultivate practical data talent together with local residents," adding, "We will continue to expand and operate big data education courses, which are essential in the digital transformation era, for the benefit of the local community."
