On September 15, Park Junghyun, CEO of Korail Distribution, visited the Donghae Headquarters in Donghae, Gangwon Province, and conducted the "2025 Second Half Emergency Response Training." This was the company's first simulation drill based on a real accident scenario. The training was organized to raise awareness of safety accidents and to enhance on-site response capabilities.

The Donghae Headquarters serves as a logistics hub where the port of Mukho and the railway are connected, and is a key site for the resource distribution business, including the transportation of minerals such as limestone. The training was conducted jointly with the Mukho 119 Safety Center and observed by the Donghae Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries. The scenario focused on potential accidents at the loading site, including personal injury and conveyor belt entrapment incidents.

After the training, during the "Safety Culture Meeting," CEO Park stated, "By simulating disaster situations and conducting training, we can clearly understand what actions to take in an emergency," emphasizing, "Today's training is your lifeline that can save the lives of your colleagues." Previously, immediately after his appointment, CEO Park selected the Donghae Headquarters as his first site for on-site management and instructed the strengthening of the safety management system. As a result, a real-time monitoring system for the loading site has been established at the Donghae Headquarters, enabling the head office to identify and respond to risk factors at an early stage.

Meanwhile, Korail Distribution is expanding its safety management budget and increasing investments in building safety systems, repairing and upgrading hazardous equipment, and providing safety training for employees. In preparation for the upcoming Chuseok holiday and the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, the company plans to conduct special safety accident prevention inspections at 220 convenience stores and food and beverage outlets located in major railway stations nationwide.

CEO Park stated, "Since safety is our top priority, all employees must heighten their awareness and lead by example," adding, "We will create an organizational culture where everyone identifies risk factors directly at the site and takes personal responsibility for safety management."
