Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province, visited sweet persimmon farms in Buk-myeon on September 15 to inspect the production status ahead of the Chuseok holiday season. He also visited key business sites and civil complaint locations, such as the Magumsan Hot Spring Foot Bath Experience Center, to seek on-site solutions.

According to Changwon Special City, Acting Mayor Jang first visited sweet persimmon farms in Buk-myeon to comprehensively review sunburn damage, pest and disease trends, and expected production volume, while also listening to the difficulties faced by farmers.

Although about 10 percent of the sweet persimmons suffered sunburn damage due to drought and heat waves in early summer this year, stable growth has been maintained thanks to proper irrigation management by farmers, the application of sunburn mitigation agents, and pest and disease control. As a result, a bountiful harvest is expected compared to an average year.

He continued by visiting sites related to civil complaints in order to address citizen inconveniences. These included the Magumsan Hot Spring Foot Bath Experience Center, the construction site for the connecting road between Mudong and Mugok districts in Buk-myeon (Boulevard 3-35), and the site where residents requested the expansion of the Myeongho Village Bridge. At each site, he listened to residents' opinions and instructed relevant departments to respond proactively to civil complaints.

Acting Mayor Jang Geumyong emphasized, "Although we faced many difficulties due to drought and heat waves this summer, we will actively support farmers ahead of the Chuseok holiday season to accelerate the harvest of high-quality sweet persimmons. We will also continue to provide reliable administration by thoroughly addressing climate change-related issues such as sweet persimmon sunburn damage, as well as everyday inconveniences."
