On September 15, the Chuncheon Sports Council and the Chuncheon Leisure and Taekwondo Organizing Committee held a pilot operation of the 'Citizen Taekwondo Plaza Project' at the central plaza of the Chuncheon Underground Shopping Plaza. Around 20 seniors from the Chuncheon Southern Senior Welfare Center participated in the pilot, experiencing various Living Taekwondo programs such as basic movements, poomsae, and physical training. Moving forward, the city plans to design programs that are easily accessible to everyone, encouraging natural participation and interest from local residents.

The Citizen Taekwondo Plaza Project aims to promote citizen health, facilitate intergenerational communication, and revitalize the local community. It has significant potential for expansion as a living sports program where seniors, youth, and people from diverse backgrounds can come together.

On June 9, the city launched the Chuncheon Taekwondo Citizens' Council with the vision of becoming a "Taekwondo City Enjoyed by All Citizens." Currently, Taekwondo class programs are being offered at administrative welfare centers, senior welfare centers, and high schools.

A Chuncheon City official stated, "We will create programs that combine the traditional values of Taekwondo with the benefits of modern living sports, so that all generations can enjoy them." He added, "Starting with this pilot operation, we will establish regular programs and expand participation to more citizens, so that Taekwondo becomes a part of everyday life."
