Boseong County to Host 2nd County Governor's National Mountain Biking and Public Riding Competition

A Festival for Riders at Jaeamsan Natural Recreation Forest

Mountain biking enthusiasts and their families from across the country will gather in Boseong County, South Jeolla Province.

On September 15, the county announced that it will host the "2nd Boseong County Governor's National Mountain Biking and Public Riding Competition" at Jaeamsan Natural Recreation Forest from the 27th to the 28th.

This event, organized by the Korea Mountain Bike Federation and sponsored by Boseong County, will take place over two days against the backdrop of Jaeamsan and Illimsan, two of the region's most famous mountains. On the 27th, there will be a thrilling downhill race, and on the 28th, a cross-country competition and a public riding event for the whole family will be held.

The Jaeamsan downhill course, which meets international competition standards, is 1.4 kilometers long and features steep slopes and curves, promising an exhilarating race. The cross-country event will cover a 16-kilometer route starting at Jaeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, passing along the Daman and Imsu Reservoir trails and the Illimsan Yongchu Valley forest road, before returning to Jaeamsan. Participants will experience the charm of Jaeamsan and Illimsan as they traverse a total elevation gain of 633 meters and a descent of 636 meters through mountainous terrain.

The public riding event will start at the Jaeamsan Natural Recreation Forest lawn square, circle Daman Reservoir (2.5 kilometers), and include a direct experience of the newly created barefoot trail (1.6 kilometers) this year.

For participants' convenience, 50 bicycles will be available for free rental, and all participants will receive lunch and commemorative gifts. In addition, there will be a prize drawing featuring high-end bicycles and other items. The opening ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. on the 28th at the Jaeamsan Natural Recreation Forest lawn square.

County Governor Kim Cheolwoo stated, "I hope this event at Jaeamsan Natural Recreation Forest will showcase the appeal of mountain biking and promote the value of Boseong County's forest recreation facilities nationwide."
