Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 15 that the 2nd plenary session of the 319th temporary session of the Gwangju City Council has finalized the third supplementary budget at 220.3 billion won.
With this supplementary budget, the total budget has increased by 220.3 billion won compared to the second supplementary budget, reaching 1.9261 trillion won in total. Of this, 165.8 billion won has been allocated to the general account and 54.5 billion won to the special account.
The main projects include: 70.4 billion won for revitalizing the local economy, such as issuing livelihood recovery consumption coupons; 23.3 billion won for infrastructure development, including the expansion of sports facilities; 27.8 billion won for public transportation, including the implementation of the city bus public management system and the operation of the metropolitan bus quasi-public system; and 22.8 billion won for road network expansion and improvement, including 3.4 billion won for the Seongnam-Janghowon expressway and 1.5 billion won for the expansion and paving of the Jangsim-ri village access road.
Mayor Bang Sehwan stated, "This supplementary budget focuses our limited resources on stabilizing citizens' lives, economic recovery, and the seamless implementation of key pending projects. We will continue to swiftly advance planned projects to realize a 'Hopeful Change, Happy City Gwangju' that citizens can truly experience."
