Gwangju AI Cluster Startup Building Opens... First Tenant Companies Now Recruiting

Startup Infrastructure with 67 Office Spaces and Meeting Rooms
Support for Data Center and Demonstration Equipment, Consulting and Investment Connections

The Startup Building within the Gwangju Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cluster Complex has opened its doors and begun recruiting its first tenant companies. On September 15, the Gwangju Metropolitan Government and the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group announced, "We are now accepting applications on a rolling basis for companies wishing to move into the Startup Building of the AI Cluster Complex in Gwangju Cheomdan 3 District."

The AI Startup Building is a space established to foster AI-based startups, offering 67 office spaces as well as collaboration facilities such as meeting rooms, training rooms, and a conference hall. Welfare amenities including showers, a gym, lounges, and outdoor sports facilities are also available to support a comfortable work environment. Tenant companies can also utilize specialized equipment, such as the GPU-based high-performance computing resources at the adjacent National AI Data Center and a large-scale driving simulator. Companies based in Gwangju are eligible for a 50% discount on data center usage and a 30% discount on demonstration equipment.


A range of startup support programs is also offered, including expert startup consulting, technology and IR mentoring, investment attraction support, assistance with exhibition participation and market development, and opportunities to participate in projects in collaboration with the Gwangju Metropolitan Government and the Project Group. Applications for tenancy can be submitted through the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group website.


Oh Sangjin, head of the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group, stated, "The AI Startup Building will become the center of Gwangju's startup ecosystem," adding, "We hope that the active participation of promising startups will help Gwangju emerge as the AI startup hub of South Korea."
