Gwangmyeong City Wins 'Communication Award' at Youth-Friendly Governance Awards for 7 Consecutive Years

Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 15th that it received the 'Communication Award' at the 2025 Youth-Friendly Governance Awards, organized by the Youth and Future Association.

This award recognizes local governments that have contributed to creating a youth-friendly environment. Winners are selected based on the Youth-Friendliness Index in the areas of policy, legislation, and communication, with a comprehensive evaluation of youth participation organizations, youth support projects, and youth-related events.

The city received high marks for actively pursuing communication-based policies with young people, directly gathering and reflecting youth voices in its policies through various initiatives such as operating the 'Youth Committee' under the mayor's office, implementing the 'Youth Deliberative Budget System,' and promoting the 'Youth Idea Contest Project.'

In addition, the city operates the youth complex cultural space 'Youth-dong,' the economic independence-focused space 'Second Youth-dong Cheongchun Gotgan,' and is promoting a variety of youth policies, including establishing a 'Basic Youth Policy Plan,' offering free suit rentals for youth job interviews, and holding the 'Gwangmyeong Youth Day' event.
