Shinsegae International Completes Lineup of 15 Niche Fragrance Brands

Shinsegae International announced on September 15 that it has recently signed an exclusive domestic distribution agreement with the French luxury niche fragrance brand Maison Francis Kurkdjian and began its domestic operations earlier this month.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a fragrance house founded in Paris, France in 2009 by master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian-who has created fragrances for global brands such as Jean Paul Gaultier's "Le Male," Elizabeth Arden's "Green Tea," Giorgio Armani, Acqua di Parma, and Dior-and co-founder Marc Chaya. Its signature products include Baccarat Rouge 540, 724, A La Rose, and Aqua Universalis.

With this addition, Shinsegae International now offers a total of 15 fragrance brands, including Diptyque, Santa Maria Novella, Memo Paris, Loewe Perfumes, Ex Nihilo, and Hermes Perfume.

Going forward, Shinsegae International plans to actively acquire new fragrance brands with high growth potential. Recently, niche fragrances have become representative items of "small luxury," as they provide psychological satisfaction at a relatively lower cost compared to high-end jewelry. As a result, the popular fragrance brands owned by Shinsegae International have continued to record double-digit annual growth rates.

Shinsegae International will focus on expanding its offline presence by sequentially opening in major domestic department stores-including the existing Shinsegae Gangnam branch, Lotte Jamsil branch, The Hyundai Seoul branch, and Galleria Apgujeong branch-by the end of next year. The company will also expand its official online retail channels.

A Shinsegae International representative stated, "We will aggressively grow our business by leveraging the brand power of Maison Francis Kurkdjian and our expertise in brand management," adding, "We plan to continue discovering differentiated brands so that Shinsegae International becomes synonymous with niche fragrances."
