"KBS National Singing Contest" Successfully Held in Pocheon After Six Years

On September 13, Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon), successfully hosted the public recording of the "KBS National Singing Contest Pocheon City Edition" at the special stage of Pocheon Sports Complex, drawing a crowd of over 5,000 spectators.

This event was held in Pocheon for the first time in six years since 2019, generating high anticipation among local residents and tourists. Sixteen teams that passed the preliminary round held on September 11 took the stage in the finals. The participants, ranging from university students to seniors and representing a wide variety of professions, showcased their talents and passion through singing and dancing.

One participant, in particular, introduced local agricultural products such as Pocheon grapes, apples, and papayas, contributing to the promotion of the region's specialties.

The public recording was hosted by Nam Heeseok, with special performances by guest singers Kim Yeonja, Kim Yongbin, Yoon Taehwa, Shin Sua, and Hyunsook, which further energized the atmosphere. Citizens enjoyed the festivities by clapping, singing along, and cheering enthusiastically.

Baek Younghyeon, Mayor of Pocheon, stated, "Thanks to the enthusiastic interest and participation of our citizens, we were able to successfully host the National Singing Contest in Pocheon for the first time in six years. We will continue to provide a variety of cultural and artistic programs that residents can enjoy and participate in, spreading a vibrant local culture."
