How about a glass filled to the brim with 'science'?

The National Busan Science Museum, led by Director Song Samjong, is hosting a nighttime event for adults to enjoy alcoholic beverages. On August 13, the museum announced that it is recruiting citizens to participate in "Science@Night: A Glass of Science," which will take place at Kim Jin Jae Hall in the museum at 6 p.m. on August 23.

This event is linked to the special exhibition "Science Kitchen" and will offer a variety of hands-on experiences centered around "alcohol," highlighting the science of fermentation.

Participants can join the "Wine Class" to learn about wine varieties and history with sommelier Kim Gyodong, and the "Makgeolli Class," where they will use a "Geumjeongsanseong Makgeolli Brewing Kit" to experience the traditional process of making Makgeolli, a Korean rice wine.

Attendees will be able to discover their preferences by tasting soju and a variety of craft beers, watch a colorful cocktail-making demonstration, and sample unique snacks such as edible insects.

The event is open to all adults, but participants must bring a valid ID. The participation fee is 15,000 won. Since the event includes alcohol tasting, a free shuttle bus will be provided to Osiria Station on the Donghae Line after the event for a safe return home.

Kwon Sujin, Head of the Science Culture Division at the National Busan Science Museum, stated, "This will be a special opportunity to understand and experience firsthand the principles of alcohol production and fermentation through science," adding, "We hope adult visitors will enjoy learning in the museum and create unforgettable summer night memories."
