KCGI Asset Management announced on the 13th that it had invited customers who have subscribed to its Junior Fund to participate in the "Summer Story with KCGI" event.
The company invited approximately 60 people, including 30 elementary school students who are Junior Fund subscribers and their parents, to its headquarters at the International Finance Center (IFC) in Yeouido, Seoul. The event featured a variety of activities, including financial education, quizzes, and a pottery-making experience.
One parent who participated in the event shared their thoughts, saying, "It was beneficial because my child became interested in finance and money by learning essential financial knowledge through fun quizzes."
The KCGI Junior Fund is a fund available exclusively to those under the age of 20. Since its inception, KCGI Asset Management has organized a range of programs for Junior Fund subscribers. Since 2023, the company has invited subscribers and their parents to participate in financial education and experiential events during Children's Day, summer vacation, winter vacation, and Christmas.
Additionally, since 2023, KCGI Asset Management has been offering a free gift tax filing agency service to those who open a Junior Fund account and meet certain requirements. When parents transfer assets to their children without compensation, tax issues related to gifting may arise. The company provides prior consultation and handles the gift tax filing free of charge to allow parents and children to focus on investing.
The KCGI Junior Fund, established on June 15, 2017, is open only to investors who were under 20 years old at the time of initial subscription. The fund invests in both global and domestic stocks and equity funds. It is managed with the aim of helping children prepare for their future financial needs and achieve economic independence through investment.
As of the 12th, the fund's net assets under management stood at KRW 139.5 billion, making it the second-largest children's fund.
