The Korea Petroleum Management Service announced on August 13 that it had decided on specific action plans to prevent fraudulent claims related to public finance payments under its jurisdiction during the first meeting of the newly established 'Public Finance Execution Task Force' this year.
The task force is currently composed of public finance payment execution officers and external experts, and is being operated under the direction of Choi Chunsik, President of the Korea Petroleum Management Service. This initiative is part of the agency's efforts to strengthen transparency in public finance execution, which is one of this year's key improvement tasks for addressing corruption-prone areas identified in the comprehensive integrity assessment.
During the meeting, the agency decided on several policies to prevent fraudulent claims in public finance for this year, including: operating a dedicated reporting period for fraudulent claims related to public finance; gathering internal and external feedback on system improvements; and conducting inspections of the execution status of public finance payments under the agency's jurisdiction. These initiatives will be carried out intensively from August to September.
President Choi stated, "In line with the government's policy to prevent fraudulent claims in public finance, we will strengthen the management of public finance payments under our jurisdiction. At the same time, we will actively identify and improve institutional measures to enhance transparency in the execution of public finance and to alleviate public inconvenience."
