On August 13, Korea Investment Management announced that it will hold a live seminar titled "Hantou Station" on its official YouTube channel. The topic of the seminar is "Why You Should Invest in Chinese Big Tech."
Kim Minkyoung, Head of Overseas Investment Management at Korea Investment Management, will appear as a speaker. Kim is responsible for managing Korea Investment Management’s China funds, including the Korea Investment China AI Big Tech Plus Fund and the Korea Investment Greater China Fund. Kim also manages the ACE China AI Big Tech TOP2+ Active ETF, which was listed on July 29.
During the seminar, Kim will provide analysis related to Chinese big tech. Chinese big tech has emerged as an attractive investment destination following the appearance of Deepseek, with some even referring to this as the "Deepseek Moment." The Deepseek Moment describes the phenomenon in which China’s rapidly advancing technology is shaking up the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) technology competition.
Kim explained, "This seminar is designed for investors interested in the competitiveness of Chinese big tech companies and the effectiveness of Chinese government policies," adding, "It will be an opportunity to review not only the growth that Chinese big tech companies have demonstrated so far, but also their future outlook."
The seminar will also introduce the ACE China AI Big Tech TOP2+ Active ETF. This ETF invests in key companies related to Chinese AI technology. It allocates approximately 25% each to Xiaomi, a promising AI company in China, and Alibaba, a leading AI company. The ETF also includes other companies expected to show growth in AI technology. When selecting stocks, Korea Investment Management utilizes data from its Shanghai Research Center, among other sources. Korea Investment Management has been operating its research center in mainland China for 15 consecutive years since 2011.
Kim stated, "Unlike the U.S., where big tech leaders are firmly established, China tends to see shifts in market leaders," adding, "I will explain why it is important to respond quickly to changes in the local market, using our fund performance as an example."
The live seminar "Hantou Station" will be available for viewing on Korea Investment Management’s official YouTube channel starting at 5:30 p.m. After the seminar, there will be a prize draw for viewers, with items such as AirPods being given away.
The ACE China AI Big Tech TOP2+ Active ETF is a performance-based product, and past performance does not guarantee future results. Investors may also incur a loss of principal depending on the fund’s performance.
