Dongkook Pharmaceutical Launches Dermatitis Treatment 'Senskin Cream'

Dongkook Pharmaceutical announced on June 24 that it has launched 'Senskin Cream,' the first dermatitis treatment in Korea to combine hydrocortisone acetate and D-panthenol as active ingredients.

This product contains a high concentration (5%) of hydrocortisone acetate, which is effective in alleviating skin inflammation, and D-panthenol, which helps strengthen the skin barrier. As a result, it provides both anti-inflammatory effects and skin barrier enhancement at the same time.

Hydrocortisone acetate is a low-irritant steroid ingredient with excellent anti-inflammatory properties. By adding D-panthenol, which aids in the recovery of the skin mucosa and strengthens the skin barrier, the product compensates for the potential weakening of the skin barrier that can occur with steroid ointment use.

In particular, Senskin Cream can be effectively used to treat skin damage caused by sunburn or insect bites during the summer, making it a recommended item for summer vacation first aid kits. When skin becomes red or peels after sun exposure, the D-panthenol ingredient helps provide rapid soothing and recovery through moisturizing and barrier strengthening effects. For insect bites, it not only relieves inflammation but also aids in the regeneration and barrier improvement of skin damaged by scratching.

Additionally, Senskin Cream can be used for chronic allergic dermatitis to relieve itching and skin irritation. Due to its low-irritant formulation, unlike conventional steroid products that are generally recommended for use within one week, Senskin Cream can be used for up to two weeks.

A marketing representative from Dongkook Pharmaceutical stated, "Many people have concerns about steroid ingredients, but Senskin Cream contains a low-potency steroid, so even children and female consumers with sensitive skin can use it safely. We hope that Senskin Cream, which can be used for various symptoms such as frequent skin irritation in summer, sunburn, insect bites, and allergic dermatitis, will help effectively manage irritated skin."

Senskin Cream is an over-the-counter medication that can be purchased at pharmacies without a prescription. It should be applied thinly to the affected area once or twice daily and massaged in.
