The Chungnam Western Veterans Affairs Office announced that, in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation and June, the Month of Patriots and Veterans, it will promote a variety of veterans policies and projects to foster a culture of respect for veterans, focusing on the eight cities and counties under its jurisdiction this year.

The Veterans Affairs Office became the first in the country to launch the 'Priority Parking Zones for National Veterans' initiative, aiming to establish an institutional foundation for spreading a culture of respect for national merit recipients and their families. In cooperation with Chungnam Province and the eight cities and counties under its jurisdiction, the office enacted an ordinance to establish these priority parking zones and, by the end of May, secured more than 100 parking spaces as a result.

Going forward, the Chungnam Western Veterans Affairs Office plans to expand the installation of 'Priority Parking Zones for National Veterans' to private multi-use facilities as well as public institutions, with the aim of further spreading a culture of respect and consideration for veterans.

In particular, to mark the 80th anniversary of Liberation this year, the office is actively conducting a campaign to visit and pay respects at the graves of independence patriots together with local organization leaders and students. So far, they have visited 37 such graves across the eight cities and counties under their jurisdiction, and plan to visit more than 50 graves by the end of the year.

Through the 'Veterans for All Dream Project,' the office has signed agreements with related organizations such as the Chungnam branch of the Korean Red Cross and Chungnam Development Corporation to provide customized welfare services needed by veterans' families, including home repair volunteer work and the provision of summer supplies. These efforts have received a positive response.

In addition, through the 'Veterans for All Honors Club,' which is composed of local organization leaders, the office is continuously carrying out practical sharing activities that benefit veterans' families, such as briquette sharing, sweet red bean bread donations, and the delivery of consolation gifts, achieving positive outcomes.

Seo Jungmi, Director of the Chungnam Western Veterans Affairs Office, stated, "We will continue to expand and implement community-based veterans policies and field-oriented welfare services to realize 'Veterans for All,' so that we can provide comfort to veterans' families and further spread a culture of respect and consideration for veterans."
