According to the Gwangju Office of Education on June 12, about 500 people, including participating students, accompanying teachers, and parents, attended the event. The program included a Samulnori performance, a K-pop performance, a student pledge, an introduction to the program, and safety education. Participants wished for safe experiential activities through a paper airplane flying performance.
This year's program is organized into 16 fields, including democracy and human rights, AI and science, and culture and arts. Around 420 students are scheduled to visit 23 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. The Gwangju Office of Education also expects the program to help spread the spirit of the May 18 Democratization Movement and promote K-culture.
