A man in his 50s who posted an online message plotting a terror attack at the wedding of President Lee Jaemyung's son, Dongho, has been apprehended by the police.
On June 12, Seoul Seongbuk Police Station announced that they had arrested and questioned Mr. A the previous day on suspicion of public intimidation.
Mr. A has admitted to all charges and stated during the investigation that he had no actual intention of carrying out the act.
Previously, on June 9, Mr. A allegedly posted a message on social networking services (SNS) under the theme "Complete Eradication at Once," mentioning the date and time of Dongho's wedding and uploading a map photo of the venue, as well as writing, "I could get the license plate numbers of incoming vehicles."
A police official stated, "Posting threatening messages is clearly a criminal act, even if there is no intention to actually carry them out."
