"A Total of 9 Million Won Paid in Instructor Fees"
Seoul National University of Education (Seoul National University of Education) has been accused of sending 11 instructors recommended by an organization related to Ribak School to serve as instructors at Neulbom School.
On June 6, Choi Minhee, chairperson of the National Assembly's Science, ICT, Broadcasting, and Communications Committee and a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated?based on materials received from the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity and Seoul National University of Education?that 11 instructors affiliated with the Korea Neulbom Education Association, established by Son Hyosuk, the head of Ribak School, received instructor training at Seoul National University of Education and subsequently gave Neulbom lectures to children.
According to the data, a total of 9 million won in instructor fees was paid, with each instructor receiving between 800,000 and 900,000 won.
Representative Choi said, "The 11 instructors recommended by Ribak School openly went to educational sites to give lectures and received a total of 9 million won in instructor fees. The actual situation, including the content of the lectures, must be immediately investigated to determine if there are any irregularities."
Ribak School is suspected of hiring participants in online comment manipulation as Neulbom School instructors and providing Neulbom programs to some elementary schools in Seoul.
The Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, under the Ministry of Science and ICT, provided Seoul National University of Education with 1.21 billion won for the 2025 Neulbom School instructor training budget and related expenses. It is known that Seoul National University of Education received recommendations for about 500 instructor personnel from partner organizations, including the Neulbom Education Association.
On the previous day, Seoul National University of Education issued a statement, saying, "As soon as we became aware of the connection between the Korea Neulbom Education Association and Ribak School, we strongly protested to the company and canceled our agreement with them. We have never entered into any agreement or cooperative relationship with Ribak School."
