Hwaseong City Wins Grand Prize in Cadastral Surveying at Ministry of Land's "Cadastral·Drone Survey Competition"

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 19 that it won the grand prize in the cadastral surveying category at the "2025 National Land Information Challenge Cadastral·Drone Survey Competition," which was hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and held at the Busan Port International Exhibition and Convention Center over two days, from May 15 to 16.

This competition was held to strengthen the capabilities of those working in cadastral and spatial information and to foster future talent in the spatial information field. It was divided into three categories: cadastral surveying, drone surveying, and detailed surveying. A total of 154 participants, including local government officials, cadastral surveyors, and university students from across the country, took part in the event.

Representing Gyeonggi Province, the Hwaseong City team in the cadastral surveying category consisted of Park Sangsoo (team leader), Choi Jinseop (official), and Lee Hyojin (official). The team had previously won the top prize at the Gyeonggi Province competition held last month, earning the right to represent the province in this national event.

In the cadastral surveying category, the Hwaseong City team received the highest score based on a comprehensive evaluation of the accuracy of their survey results, the speed of their surveying, and their equipment operation skills.

Lee Eunsook, head of the Land Information Division at Hwaseong City, stated, "This competition was a great opportunity to showcase Hwaseong City's excellent cadastral surveying capabilities nationwide," and added, "We will continue to work hard to further strengthen our staff's abilities in cadastral survey performance inspection."
