Gwangju Bank Holds Financial Lecture for Foreigners to Acquire Essential Financial Information

Gwangju Bank announced on May 2 that it recently held a financial lecture to support the stable settlement of foreigners in the local community.

The educational program, which was jointly organized with the Gwangju Foreign Residents Support Center on April 27, was conducted for about 50 foreign workers residing in Gwangju. The special lecture was designed to help foreigners acquire essential financial information necessary for their social lives.

The curriculum focused on practical topics needed in daily life, including procedures for opening a bank account, methods for reasonable card usage, tips for managing credit scores, and ways to prevent financial fraud such as voice phishing. In particular, the program emphasized providing practical and specific information to foreigners who have limited experience using financial services.

Additionally, the event provided an opportunity for foreigners of various nationalities to freely ask questions and receive answers, enabling them to resolve financial difficulties and acquire practical, everyday financial knowledge.

Ko Hoon, head of the Gwangju Bank Foreigners Financial Center, stated, "Financial education for foreigners is not just about providing information; it is an important process that helps foreigners acquire essential knowledge and supports them in achieving stable and successful social lives in the local community." He added, "We will continue to actively support the financially marginalized and help them settle successfully in the community by cooperating with various local organizations, including the Gwangju Foreign Residents Support Center."
