Hoengseong Hosugil Festival to Be Held for Three Days from May 9 to 11

On May 2, Hoengseong County in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor: Kim Myungki) announced that the Hoengseong Hosugil Festival Committee (Chairman: Kim Cheolsu) will hold the 6th Hoengseong Hosugil Festival for three days from May 9 to 11 under the theme "Happiness in Nature, Walking Together on Hoengseong Hosugil."

This event will take place along Section 5 of the Hoengseong Lake Trail, which is considered one of the most beautiful walking paths in Korea, as well as in the Manghyangui Dongsan area. Visitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful nature of May, which is ideal for walking under the warm sunlight.
The festival committee has prepared a variety of programs for visitors, including a celebratory performance by famous singers and a QR stamp tour, as well as a folk painting experience. The opening ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on May 9.
In particular, on Saturday, May 10, the "Omyun Gamdong Hoengseong Hosugil Trekking Event," organized in collaboration with the Gangwon Tourism Organization to mark the 2025 Year of Visiting Gangwon, will be held. There will also be lake trail busking and performances by local artists, offering a rich array of sights and entertainment.
Walking packages (souvenirs and coupons), available in limited quantities only during the festival period, can be purchased at the package lounge within the festival venue.
Kim Cheolsu, Chairman of the Hoengseong Hosugil Festival Committee, said, "I hope that many visitors to the festival will enjoy healing moments as they take in the picturesque scenery of the lake trail. We will do our utmost to ensure a safe and enjoyable festival."
Meanwhile, the Hoengseong Lake Trail is a walking path that surrounds Hoengseong Lake, an artificial lake formed after the completion of the Hoengseong Dam in 2000. The trail is 31.5 kilometers long and consists of six courses. Among them, Section 5, the Family Trail (9 km), is the only loop course that allows visitors to experience Hoengseong Lake up close and return to the starting point.
The A Course, which starts and ends at Manghyangui Dongsan, features three observatories where visitors can enjoy reflections on the lake, as well as charming sculptures scattered throughout the trail. It is an ideal route for leisurely walks and photography, making it a popular destination for tourists.
The B Course is a forest path filled with primeval woodland. The Hoengseong Lake Rest Area Observatory offers panoramic views of the lake, and the grove of poplar trees leads visitors into a fantastic world.
