The 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo Organizing Committee is holding an SNS certification shot event for the public to commemorate 500 days remaining until the opening of the Expo. This event is centered around the Expo's promotional mascot, "Daseomi," and is designed so that citizens and tourists can naturally become interested in the event.

According to the Organizing Committee on May 2, this event was arranged to announce that, as of April 23, there are 500 days left until the Expo opens, and to build anticipation for the upcoming event. Anyone can participate, and the participation period is until May 9.

The participation method is simple. Participants should take a photo with the "Daseomi" sculpture or photo zone installed at major locations in Yeosu city, upload it to their personal SNS account (such as Instagram or Facebook) with the required hashtags, and submit the post link on the event page.

The hashtags must include "#YeosuIslandsExpo" and "#D500Daseomi," among others. More detailed participation instructions can be found on the Expo's official SNS channels (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, blog, etc.).

Among those who participate in the event, a total of 500 people will be randomly selected to receive prizes. Of these, 30 people will receive chicken gifticons, and 470 people will receive coffee gifticons. The winners will be announced on the official SNS on May 12.

An official from the Organizing Committee stated, "We prepared this event to share the excitement for the Expo with the public at this special D-500 milestone," and added, "We hope this will be an opportunity for people to encounter Daseomi in their daily lives and to further increase interest in the Yeosu World Islands Expo."

Meanwhile, the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, under the theme "Islands, Connecting the Sea and the Future," is scheduled to be held throughout Yeosu from July 17 to August 16, 2026. The Expo will feature a variety of marine and island content, exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and academic programs.
