Han Ducksoo X Lee Junseok △... Kim Moonsoo and Ahn Cheolsoo Differ on Scope of Unification

Ahn Cheolsoo: No Unification with Han Ducksoo, Yes with Lee Junseok
Kim Moonsoo: Yes to Unification with Han Ducksoo, Uncertain with Lee Junseok

Kim Moonsoo, former Minister of Employment and Labor and a presidential primary candidate for the People Power Party, and Representative Ahn Cheolsoo revealed differences in their views regarding the scope of unification.

On April 24, during the second round of the People Power Party primary debate held at the Channel A studio in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Representative Ahn expressed his opposition (X) when asked about his willingness to unify with Han Ducksoo, the acting president and prime minister.

Representative Ahn explained, "There are too many tasks that Acting President Han needs to handle, such as the U.S. tariff issue," and added, "Since major policies in the United States are decided within the first six months of a new administration, Acting President Han should focus on his work during the remaining three months."

In contrast, former Minister Kim emphasized, "We survive if we unite and perish if we divide," and stated, "Although it seems unlikely that Acting President Han will run, in order to win, unification is necessary whether it is with Han Ducksoo or Kim Ducksoo."

The two also expressed differing views on unification with Representative Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform Party.

Representative Ahn supported unification, saying, "This is a difficult election in which 60% of the public wants a change in government," and added, "To win, we need to bring together as many anti-Lee Jaemyung forces as possible."

Former Minister Kim said, "Basically, we need to unite, but there will be various complicated conditions," and reserved judgment by stating, "We need to thoroughly explore the possibilities in advance."
