Inha University will provide special scholarships to students affected by the recent large-scale wildfires.

On the 8th, Inha University announced that it has established special scholarships with the approval of the president to support affected students in continuing their studies.

The scholarship recipients are undergraduate students from regions recently designated as special disaster areas, including Andong-si in Gyeongbuk, Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok counties, Sancheong and Hadong counties in Gyeongnam, and Ulju County in Ulsan, who have been affected by the wildfires.

Among the eligible students, unmarried students will receive the scholarship if either they or their parents have been affected, while married students will receive it if either they or their spouse have been affected. They will receive 1 million KRW each for the first and second semesters of this year, totaling 2 million KRW as a special scholarship.

Inha University will also provide counseling support for the psychological recovery of students affected by the wildfires, in addition to the special scholarship.

Jo Myung-woo, president of Inha University, said, "We decided to provide special scholarships to offer some help to the students and their families affected by the prolonged wildfires," adding, "We will actively support the affected students so that they do not give up on their studies despite the difficult circumstances."
