Kim Dong-geun, Mayor of Uijeongbu, Holds March Neighborhood Leaders Policy Communication Tea Time

Held Under the Theme of "Freedom in Safety, Leisure in Convenience"

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) held the ‘March Dongjangdan Policy Communication Tea Time’ on the 19th at the city hall’s medium conference room, with 29 attendees including the mayor, vice mayor, neighborhood chiefs, and heads of related departments.

This tea time was conducted under the theme ‘Freedom in Safety, Leisure in Convenience.’ Policies and current issues proposed by 15 neighborhoods were discussed under four sub-themes: ▲Green City ▲Convenient City ▲Safe City ▲Pleasant City.

Specifically, under the theme of ▲Green City, Howon 1-dong proposed four policies including the ‘2025 Uijeongbu Howon Cherry Blossom Festa’; under ▲Convenient City, Uijeongbu 1-dong proposed four policies including the ‘Improvement of the method for distributing volume-based waste bags to basic livelihood security recipients’; under ▲Safe City, Howon 2-dong proposed four policies including the ‘Pavement maintenance and installation of signposts at the entrance intersection of Hoeryongsa Temple’; and under ▲Pleasant City, Uijeongbu 2-dong proposed three policies including the ‘Environmental improvement of the Uijeongbu-dong regional housing cooperative.’

In particular, the ‘2025 Uijeongbu Howon Cherry Blossom Festa’ is expected to greatly contribute not only to enhancing citizens’ cultural life by holding the festival in line with the blooming period of the cherry blossom path along Jungnangcheon Stream in Howon 1-dong but also to revitalizing the local economy.

In the final issue and review corner, a spring greeting review video was watched under the theme ‘Walking, Stepping, Enjoying,’ reflecting on the ‘Spring Outing Along the Waterway’ held on the 8th. The video revisited various scenes of the spring outing event that shone through everyone’s collaboration, from the relay walk starting at Buyongcheon Stream to stepping on green barley and a small concert.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, “For a healthy organization, it is necessary for anyone to freely raise issues and for the responsible departments to proactively create solutions,” and urged, “Please continuously review the needs of citizens and actively make proposals.”
