Cheongyang County in Chungnam is launching efforts to realize the vision of "2025 Cheongyang! Year of Creating a Tourism City."

On the 19th, the county held a briefing session attended by 32 people, including the "Tourism City Development Project Task Force" and external experts.

At this briefing, the vision of "Welcome U Cheongyang! Era of 5 Million Tourists" was presented, along with the announcement of three major strategic goals and 48 detailed action plans to achieve this vision.

The event also provided an opportunity to share implementation plans from 16 departments and collect opinions from external experts and heads of private organizations.

The three main strategic goals set by the county are: improving tourism readiness, building tourism infrastructure, and expanding the resident population. Based on these, a total of 48 action plans will be pursued.

In the area of improving tourism readiness, 12 detailed tasks have been prepared, including the improvement of tourist convenience facilities and infrastructure, management of accommodations and restaurants, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for tourists.

For tourism infrastructure, 20 tasks will be implemented, including the creation of a pet playground and promoting participation in the Chungnam RISE Project, covering both hardware and software initiatives.

Additionally, to expand the resident population, 16 tasks will be pursued, including the Chungnam-style youth one-month living program.

To strengthen the "Tourism City Development Project Task Force," the county plans to check progress through quarterly briefings and reflect improvements as needed. In addition, various projects will be carried out in cooperation with the private sector to create a boom in attracting tourists.

In particular, the tourism city development project will be operated more efficiently in connection with the "2025-2026 Chungnam Year of Visit."

County Mayor Kim Dongon stated, "With the opening of the West Inland Expressway, transportation convenience has greatly improved, and in the second half of the year, the completion of the water footbridge, water elevator, and sky tower in connection with Chilgap Tower is expected, making the tourism environment mature." He added, "We will also do our best to attract new residents by supporting the relocation of institutions to the Chungnam Social Economy Innovation Town and revitalizing the Cheongnam Geumgang riverside park golf course."
