A Media Content Expert with Over 30 Years of Experience as CEO of ENA
Anticipating a Leap in Geumcheon-gu's Culture and Arts Based on Planning and Strategy Built in the Corporate Sector
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on March 4th the appointment of Yoon Yong-pil, former CEO of ENA, as the 5th chairman of the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation.
The term of office is two years, until March 3, 2027.
New chairman Yoon Yong-pil holds a Ph.D. in Journalism from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and is a media content expert with over 30 years of experience. He began his career in the media and journalism industry at Cheil Worldwide, a globally renowned advertising agency. Later, he served as CEO of the comprehensive entertainment channel ENA (Sky TV), overseeing the production and broadcasting of popular content such as "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" and "I Am Solo," contributing to ENA's growth as a media content company.
The district expects Chairman Yoon to lead Geumcheon-gu's culture and arts anew, based on his media and content career and experience working at the forefront of popular culture.
Yoon Yong-pil, the new chairman of the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation, stated, "The cultural and arts industry is not merely a consumer good but a core element that strengthens regional identity, creates economic value, and enhances citizens' quality of life. Based on the planning and strategic experience accumulated in the corporate sector, I will work with the foundation's staff to promote the sustainable development of culture and arts in Geumcheon-gu."
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, "As Geumcheon-gu celebrates its 30th anniversary since establishment, we plan to communicate widely with residents through diverse culture and arts to leap forward as a younger and more innovative city. Based on the experience of the new chairman, who was in the media industry that responds fastest to youth, we expect various cultural and artistic activities for the residents of Geumcheon-gu."
