Donation of Huggies, Kleenex, Good Feelings, and More
Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 31st that it donated approximately 2.5 million products last year to vulnerable groups in need of social care.
Through the 'Our Mountains and Rivers Green and Greener' campaign, Yuhan-Kimberly has continued donations of products such as Huggies, Kleenex, Good Feelings, and Depend. The cumulative donation volume exceeded 28 million last year, and it is expected to reach 30 million within this year.
Huggies, which has been producing ultra-small diapers for premature babies since 2017, has been providing small sizes free of charge through neonatal intensive care units (NICU) of general and university hospitals and its own online mall, MamQ. Premature babies refer to newborns born before 37 weeks or with a birth weight of 2.5 kg or less, who are relatively vulnerable to weak immune systems or easily exposed to diseases.
Good Feelings has donated over 11 million sanitary pads cumulatively since 2016 through the 'Cheer Up, Daughters' campaign. To support vulnerable female adolescents who have difficulty purchasing sanitary pads due to economic reasons, it donates more than 1 million pads annually and provides related education through the women's menstrual health platform Daldabang.
Kleenex has donated key products such as toilet paper, facial tissues, masks, and wet wipes to vulnerable children and families through the 'Kleenex Happy Clean' campaign. The wellness care brand Depend has donated adult underwear to seniors in need of care through the 'Employee 1% Sharing Campaign,' in which employees participate.
Yuhan-Kimberly plans to continue its collaborative efforts to spread positive influence throughout society and transition to a sustainable industrial ecosystem. A Yuhan-Kimberly Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) representative said, "Our society, facing various social issues such as low birth rates, aging population, climate change, and polarization, must have all stakeholders continuously make big and small efforts within their own areas to overcome these challenges," adding, "We will continue to carry out sustainable product innovation and social contribution activities that can contribute to the lives of vulnerable groups."
