Musk, a New Nest in Poland? ...Rumors of Apartment Purchase 'Circulate'

The Tallest Residential Building in the EU Purchased by Lewandowski
"Manhattan of Warsaw" Zlota 44 Attracts Global Attention

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is reportedly considering purchasing a luxury apartment in Warsaw, Poland, according to local media outlet TVP on the 20th (local time).

Michał Lech, a real estate agent in Warsaw, told the media that negotiations are underway for a 200㎡ (60-pyeong) unit on the 52nd floor of 'Złota 44' in downtown Warsaw, priced at 25 million złoty (8.8 billion KRW), adding, "If Musk comes to Poland, he will formalize the purchase."

Designed by renowned Polish architect Daniel Libeskind, Złota 44 is a 52-story building standing 192 meters tall, known as the tallest residential building in the European Union (EU). It features amenities such as a swimming pool, a cinema, and views of Chopin Airport, earning it the nickname "Manhattan of Warsaw." It is also known that Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona), regarded as a "living legend" of Polish football, owns an apartment in this building.

This is not the first time rumors have circulated about Musk's potential real estate purchase in Poland. Last year, he considered buying a 485㎡ (147-pyeong) unit on the 50th floor of the same building but reportedly abandoned the plan due to regulations prohibiting office use. In November last year, he was also reported to have visited two castles in Tuscany, Italy, as part of scouting locations for SpaceX’s European operations.

Piotr Buyak, mayor of Głog?wek in southwestern Poland, recently publicly offered to sell his town’s old castle for use as a SpaceX office.

Recently, Musk, who has been closely aligned with far-right parties in Europe, has been at odds with mainstream European political circles amid accusations of interference in domestic affairs. However, in Poland, where a presidential election is scheduled for May, the atmosphere is largely indifferent.

According to a recent poll by the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita, 48.2% of voters said they would not care if Musk supported a particular party. Meanwhile, 33.4% said they would be influenced by Musk’s endorsement. Among these, two-thirds indicated they would rather not vote for the party Musk supports.
