Im Malsuk Receives the "Yellow Vest Angel Appreciation Plaque"
Busan Gijang-gun recently awarded commendations from the county governor to five outstanding volunteers at the regular general meeting of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Society Gijang-gun District Council.
This commendation was given to outstanding volunteers from five towns and townships who actively participated in volunteer activities last year and contributed to creating a warm local community.
Additionally, to promote the culture of sharing and encourage residents' participation in Red Cross fundraising, Gijang-gun added significance to the event by donating 2 million KRW as a special Red Cross membership fee.
At the general meeting, member Im Malsuk of the Ilgwang-eup Volunteer Society, who has volunteered for over 30 years, received the ‘Yellow Vest Angel Appreciation Plaque’ from the Busan branch of the Korean Red Cross.
The ‘Yellow Vest Angel Appreciation Plaque’ is awarded to Red Cross volunteer workers who have turned 77 years old as of January 1 and have completed more than 1,000 hours of volunteer work. It honors their contribution to practicing the humanitarian spirit of the Red Cross and commemorates their honorable retirement.
County Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “I sincerely thank the Red Cross and volunteers who are dedicated to humanitarian activities for neighbors in need,” adding, “I especially hope that this special membership fee donation will help spread social interest.”
