Chosun University (President Kim Chunseong) announced on the 20th that it has received an 'A grade' in the two-year comprehensive evaluation (2023?2024) of the Local University Revitalization Project organized by the Ministry of Education.

The Local University Revitalization Project is a financial support initiative by the Ministry of Education that aims to strengthen the competitiveness of private universities outside the Seoul metropolitan area through specialization in partnership with local governments.

Sixty-six private universities outside the Seoul metropolitan area are participating among the nationally general financial support universities, and the total project period is from 2023 to 2024.

This comprehensive evaluation measures the overall project performance and feedback by assessing each university's achievements against their project goals throughout the duration of the Local University Revitalization Project.

The Ministry of Education is considering reflecting the results of this evaluation when allocating the regional RISE project budget, which is expected to reach nearly 2 trillion KRW in 2025.

As part of the Local University Revitalization Project, Chosun University has implemented programs such as establishing and expanding interdisciplinary majors, step-by-step career development support, and customized learning support programs to foster specialized talent in future mobility, advanced semiconductors, and advanced bio industries in connection with Gwangju's leading industries. In particular, the university received high marks from the Ministry of Education for its region-customized RISE linkage plan based on the CSU-RISE council and specialized research centers.

Kim Chunseong, President of Chosun University, said, "This is proof that the excellence of Chosun University's specialization strategy has been recognized," and added, "As this project is linked to the Ministry of Education's core higher education financial support project, RISE, I ask all members to continue their roles until the end of the project."
