Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly Member Park Yong-seon Receives 'Excellence in Legislative Service Award'... "Proposed Numerous Community-Oriented Ordinances"

Park Yong-seon, a member of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council (People Power Party·Pohang 5), announced on the 20th that he has been honored with the 16th Excellent Legislative Award hosted by the Korea Association of City and Provincial Councils.


The 'Excellent Legislative Award' is given to local council members who have actively engaged in legislative activities to improve the welfare of local residents and promote local autonomy. Councilor Park was highly praised for contributing to the enhancement of residents' rights through active legislative activities and for implementing field-centered policies.

Park Yong-seon served as the vice chairman of the 12th Gyeongbuk Provincial Council in the first half of the term, during which he revised unreasonable or outdated ordinances to better fit current realities and carried out legislation closely connected to residents' daily lives, contributing to the improvement of their living conditions.


In particular, Councilor Park took the lead in realizing water welfare for local residents by sponsoring the 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Ordinance on Support for the Maintenance of Aged Indoor Water Facilities.' He also sponsored ordinances such as the 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Ordinance on Fostering and Supporting the Used Battery Industry' and the 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Ordinance on Fostering and Supporting the Marine Bioindustry' to revitalize the local economy.


Furthermore, in the latter half of the 12th term, while serving as a member of the Education Committee, he initiated the nation's first 'Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education Ordinance on Support for Chinese Character Education,' establishing a basis for support to improve students' language skills and literacy.


Councilor Park Yong-seon said, "This award is not a personal honor but the result of the efforts of many who have worked together for the development of Gyeongbuk," adding, "I will continue to devote myself to legislative activities that help the region prosper and lead the development of the Republic of Korea."
