62 Types of Web DBs Now Free of Charge
Six New Databases Added in Disability, Environment, Medical, and Legal Fields
55 Types Accessible Outside the Library

The National Library of Korea announced on the 20th that it is providing 62 types of Web DBs available for free use. This year, six new databases related to disability, environment, medical, and legal fields have been added.

The National Library of Korea offers free access to high-quality knowledge information and cultural arts content Web DBs necessary for research and creative activities. The fields covered include various domestic and international publications, academic and research materials, government-issued documents, and artistic multimedia resources.

Among these, 55 types are freely accessible outside the library for holders of a regular user card. Educational materials containing journal search methods and data utilization guidance will be released on the website in the future.

Choi Young-jin, head of the Knowledge Information Service Division, stated, “By providing the latest online information sources across various fields, we expect to support the public’s research, creative, and cultural activities. We will continue to make efforts to bridge the information gap by offering unrestricted access to Web DBs that are otherwise difficult to access.”
