Strengthening Responses to Infectious Diseases, Disasters, and Emergency Medical Care
Yeongju City Public Health Center (Director Kim Munsu) announced on the 20th that it recently held a meeting of the 'Yeongju City Medical Council,' which includes seven public and private organizations such as local medical institutions, medical associations, and fire stations, to strengthen responses to infectious diseases, disasters, and emergency medical care during the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Yeongju City Medical Council is a cooperative body launched in August 2022 to establish a response system among local medical institutions and improve medical services. At the meeting held on the 17th, the operation status of medical institutions and pharmacies during the Lunar New Year holiday was reviewed, and cooperation measures to minimize gaps in medical care were primarily discussed.
In addition, to minimize inconvenience to citizens, active participation in emergency medical services by medical institutions and pharmacies during the holiday was strongly requested, and active cooperation with the local medical and pharmaceutical associations was urged to ensure compliance with infectious disease reporting deadlines and prompt response.
Kim Munsu, Director of Yeongju City Public Health Center, said, “We ask for the active cooperation of medical institutions during the Lunar New Year holiday, and we will do our best to work with the Medical Council to thoroughly prepare for infectious diseases, disasters, and emergency situations so that citizens can spend the holiday with peace of mind.”
