Inspection of Livestock Product Businesses for Omitted, Falsely Recorded, or Unreported Traceability Numbers
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 20th that it will conduct a special inspection of the Livestock Product Traceability System in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
This inspection is being promoted to ensure the safety of livestock products during the Lunar New Year holiday, when consumption of livestock products increases.
The special inspection will focus on whether traceability numbers are missing or falsely recorded, and on unreported cases, targeting livestock product businesses suspected of violating the traceability system and companies that violated traceability management last year, together with three honorary livestock product monitors.
Sancheong-gun Livestock Product Sales Stores are undergoing a special inspection for the traceability system.
Earlier this month, hygiene inspections were conducted on 12 livestock product businesses, checking for the use or sale of products past their expiration date and the hygiene management status of the workplaces.
The Livestock Product Traceability System records and manages information from the raising of livestock to slaughter so that consumers can purchase livestock products with confidence.
In particular, it enhances the transparency of livestock product distribution by preventing false origin labeling, allowing for quick response by tracing related histories in case of livestock food incidents.
Consumers can directly check the product’s origin and distribution route through the livestock product traceability management system.
A Sancheong-gun official stated, “We will make further efforts to improve the safety of livestock products, including promoting the stable establishment of the Livestock Product Traceability System.”
