The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (Kbiz) announced on the 20th that Chairman Kim Ki-moon will serve as the president of the "23rd World Korean Business Convention." The World Korean Business Convention is a global economic event where Korean entrepreneurs worldwide exchange ideas, strengthen networks, and support the overseas expansion of domestic small and medium enterprises. This year, it is scheduled to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, from April 17 to 20.
Going forward, Chairman Kim plans to engage in promotional activities as well as support efforts for the successful hosting of the convention, including participation in exhibitions by local governments and domestic and international companies, and securing buyers with strong purchasing power.
The Ministry of Overseas Koreans and the World Korean Business Convention Steering Committee explained that Chairman Kim, representing 8.04 million small and medium enterprises in Korea, has made significant efforts to expand the global market entry of SMEs. In particular, he served as the honorary president of the 21st convention held in Anaheim, California, USA, in 2023, playing a key role in achieving the largest scale ever, and was officially requested to take the position of president for this convention as the most suitable candidate for its successful hosting.
Chairman Kim said, “Last year, Korea’s exports reached a record high of 683.7 billion dollars, ranking 6th in the world. Especially in major export countries including the United States, various items made by our SMEs such as K-Beauty, K-Food, machinery, and accessories are selling like hotcakes,” and “As president, I will do my best to ensure that this convention widely promotes excellent products of Korean SMEs to the world and becomes an opportunity to expand exports.”
