KB Asset Management announced on the 20th that the ‘KB Global AI Metaverse Tech Fund’ is perfect for investors interested in the metaverse industry.
Launched in 2021, the ‘KB Global AI Metaverse Tech Fund’ is a product that broadly invests from the core technologies underpinning AI and metaverse technologies to the industries applying these technologies. It diversifies investments across various sectors, including companies related to power consumption increasing due to expanded use of computing technologies, AI semiconductors and devices, autonomous driving, and robotics.
The fund also shows excellent returns. According to the fund rating agency FnGuide, as of the 15th, the 1-year return of the ‘KB Global AI Metaverse Tech Fund (UH)’ was 46.61%, more than double the average return of 22.92% for 193 global equity funds. The 2-year and 3-year returns also recorded outstanding performances at 131.87% and 58.76%, respectively.
Looking at the recent portfolio composition by sector, information technology (IT) accounts for the largest portion at 59.38%, followed by communication services at 16.42%, and consumer discretionary at 9.80%. Major investment holdings include Amazon (9.75%), Apple (8.25%), Nvidia (7.57%), Broadcom (5.88%), ARM (5.08%), and Palantir (3.89%).
Binna Kim, manager of the Global Multi-Asset Division at KB Asset Management, said, “The metaverse sector, which was previously noted for entertainment or devices, is creating a new industrial paradigm as it is widely applied in real life through convergence with AI technology.” She added, “Since the ‘KB Global AI Metaverse Tech Fund’ invests in core companies with excellent long-term growth potential, it is also recommended for pension investments.”
The ‘KB Global AI Metaverse Tech Fund’ is divided into two types: currency-hedged (H) and currency-exposed (UH). It is currently available for subscription at major domestic banks and securities firms such as KB Kookmin Bank, KB Securities, IM Bank, Suhyup Bank, Korea Investment & Securities, and NH Investment & Securities. Principal loss may occur depending on the fund’s performance.
