Gwangjin-gu Supports 35,000 KRW Tuition for 500 Middle and High School Students to Access 'Gangnam Ingong' Courses with Annual 10,000 KRW Fee

Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will support the tuition fees for the online learning program 'Gangnam Ingang' to reduce the burden of private education expenses on parents and provide quality education to students.

The support targets 500 middle and high school students residing in Gwangjin-gu or attending schools located in Gwangjin-gu.

'Gangnam Ingang' is an internet CSAT broadcasting service operated by Gangnam District Office, offering over 1,700 lectures covering the entire middle and high school curriculum. Since 2021, Gwangjin-gu has signed a group subscription agreement with Gangnam District Office, supporting over 2,500 students' enrollment.

Out of the annual tuition fee of 45,000 KRW, the district covers 35,000 KRW.

Students can access unlimited lectures in major subjects such as Korean, English, and Mathematics for one year at the cost of 10,000 KRW. One account is supported per household, and siblings may share the same ID.

The application period is from January 15 to January 22. Applications can be submitted on the Gwangjin-gu Office website. If applications exceed 500, a computerized lottery will be held, and the selection results will be sent individually via text message on January 24.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, "We expect that quality online lectures will provide equal educational opportunities to students and alleviate the burden of private education expenses," adding, "We hope many students apply and benefit in their studies, such as preparing for school exams and self-directed learning."
