Sonid AI to Participate in UAE Abu Dhabi IDEX 2025

Sonide announced on the 14th that its subsidiary Sonide AI will participate in ‘IDEX 2025 (International Defense Exhibition)’ held from February 17 to 21 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sonide AI plans to operate in cooperation with UAE global defense companies at this largest defense exhibition in the Middle East and Africa region. Through this, they intend to jointly respond to inquiries for orders from governments and private companies of various countries. The two companies previously collaborated by operating a joint pavilion at ‘Seoul ADEX (International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition) 2023’.

At this exhibition, Sonide AI will showcase the ‘Brainbot,’ an on-device AI video analysis solution developed in-house, and the ‘AI Forward Boundary System,’ which integrates CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) image sensor technology from ClarePixel, acquired by Sonide, mounted on armored vehicles and drones of UAE defense companies.

A Sonide AI official explained, “Through this exhibition, we expect to sign letters of intent for purchase and technical cooperation with Middle Eastern and African countries, as well as attract investment from the UAE sovereign wealth fund.” He added, “Currently, Sonide AI’s ‘Brainbot’ is under supply discussions with the Dubai Police Department, and applications of ClarePixel’s image sensors for surveillance and security CCTV are being negotiated in Iraq, India, and other countries.”

The armored vehicles of the UAE defense companies are known to have far superior performance in payload, mobility, protection, and firepower compared to existing armored vehicles, capable of conducting both land and amphibious operations. Despite weighing 35 tons, they can operate on slopes of about 70% incline and side slopes of about 40%.

They are also equipped with various advanced devices. In addition to an ‘active defense system’ that can detect and neutralize enemy anti-tank missile attacks in advance, they are equipped with biochemical sensors to respond to chemical, biological, and radiological exposure situations. Furthermore, advanced equipment such as CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) threat detection systems, direct-fire gunner optical sights, and side skirts to enhance track protection are installed.

Meanwhile, IDEX 2025 is the premier global exhibition where defense industry innovation and strategic cooperation converge. It will showcase groundbreaking technologies ranging from AI (artificial intelligence) to next-generation defense systems to address urgent security challenges domestically and internationally. The event will feature participation from 1,353 companies from over 65 countries, with 41 international pavilions and 86 delegations from around the world.
