Applications Accepted Until the 27th
Supporting Student Growth Through Diverse Programs
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 14th that it is recruiting organizations and institutions to participate in the ‘Onmaeul Happiness School’ and ‘Creating a Bright School Culture’ (formerly Creating a Peaceful School Culture) programs until the 27th.
Onmaeul Happiness School consists of experience-centered programs in various fields such as history, art, and nature (ecology), while the ‘Creating a Bright School Culture’ program focuses on emotional areas such as emotional regulation, relationship building, and conflict resolution.
Both projects aim to provide practical support to school education sites by linking educational projects from various city hall departments with educational programs from private organizations.
The educational programs of the recruited participating organizations will be finalized through a review process, and the selected programs will be registered on the ‘One-Click System,’ Goyang City’s integrated online platform for educational resources. Subsequently, each school can apply for the programs they need through the One-Click System.
This year, to enhance the efficiency of the projects, Goyang City will support the Onmaeul Happiness School project for all 6th-grade elementary school students in the district, and the Creating a Bright School Culture project for all 1st-grade middle school students in the district.
Last year, five collaborative departments of Goyang City, eight related institutions, and 63 private educational organizations participated in the Onmaeul Happiness School and Creating a Bright School Culture projects, operating 67 Onmaeul experience programs and 18 character and emotional programs. Through these, Goyang students had opportunities for various experiences and education such as app programming, the Haengju Fortress story visiting schools, healing experience farm education, and restorative life education trust circles.
In particular, a teacher who participated in the ‘Restorative Life Education Trust Circle’ program highly evaluated its effectiveness, saying, “In a situation where it was difficult to build relationships among school members, this program provided students with valuable time to understand and get to know each other.”
Organizations and institutions interested in participating in the private educational programs and village-specialized programs recruited through this call can check the application forms and recruitment announcements on the Goyang City website.
