Welcome Asset Management, a subsidiary of Welcome Financial Group, announced on the 8th that it held a general meeting of shareholders and a board of directors meeting, appointing Han Seung-cheol, former head of the Liability-Driven Investment (LDI) division at KB Asset Management, as the new CEO.
The new CEO, Han, born in 1966, graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Business Administration and earned a master's degree from Korea University Business School. He began his career in 1993 as a foreign exchange dealer at Donghwa Bank and managed bond operations at the National Pension Service in 2000. In 2003, he was in charge of bond management at Dongwon Securities.
In 2005, he joined LIG Insurance (now KB Insurance), where he served as head of departments including ▲securities ▲alternative investments ▲retirement pensions ▲underwriting. From 2018, he was appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at KB Insurance, and in 2020, he launched the Liability-Driven Investment (LDI) division, transferring assets and moving to KB Asset Management, where he reorganized the team for one year and seven months.
The board of directors of Welcome Asset Management stated, "The new CEO Han is a professional and executive who combines expertise built on extensive investment experience and practical work over a long period, as well as leadership gained from launching and successfully operating various organizations, large and small. We judged him to be the right person to lead Welcome Asset Management’s new growth and transformation based on his organizational stabilization capabilities and investment expertise."
