9:30 AM Hillside Wildfire Extinguished in 1 Hour 14 Minutes

At around 9:26 a.m. on the 28th, a wildfire broke out on a mountain in Dori, Hyeonbuk-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and was extinguished after 1 hour and 14 minutes.

Forest authorities urgently deployed 3 firefighting helicopters, 27 vehicles, and 104 personnel, and the fire was extinguished around 10:40 a.m. They are currently investigating the exact cause of the wildfire and the extent of the damage.

An official from the Korea Forest Service said, "Even a small spark can escalate into a large wildfire if neglected, so we urge thorough management of fire sources."
