Damyang County announced on the 19th that it held the opening ceremony for the Damyang Global Culture Center, a multicultural education and experience space, on the 18th.

The Damyang Global Culture Center (formerly Dambit Damru) is a three-story building that serves as a space where not only multicultural families but also local residents and tourists can experience a variety of cultures, including traditional clothing, instruments, and games from different countries, all in one place.

The first-floor multicultural experience classroom is an educational space where visitors can directly experience various cultures and deepen their understanding of multiculturalism. Programs are planned in collaboration with local and nearby kindergartens, daycare centers, and elementary schools.

The second-floor costume experience hall displays a variety of costumes and accessories from five countries: the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, and Japan, which can be rented for up to two hours. Visitors can wear traditional costumes and take photos at tourist attractions in Damyang, offering a unique experience.

The third-floor rooftop rest area serves as a space for exchange and communication, featuring an unmanned cafe and operating as an outdoor performance venue for small-scale performances.

The center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and is closed every Monday.

County Governor Lee Byeongno said, "The Damyang Global Culture Center will contribute to building a society that respects differences and diversity, and to the growth of a healthy multicultural society for all." He added, "I hope it will become a new tourism resource for Damyang and an opportunity to expand the resident population."
