Ulsan Office of Education Achieves 100% Employment Rate for 3 Consecutive Years in Australia Global Field Study

Sharing Successful Employment Cases at the Performance Report Meeting

Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Cheon Chang-su) announced on the 19th that all 20 third-year vocational high school students dispatched to Australia this year for the ‘Global Field Training’ program successfully secured employment locally.

This marks the third consecutive year since 2022 achieving a 100% employment rate, proving the excellence of the ‘Global Field Training’ program.

The ‘Global Field Training’ program provides vocational high school students with overseas employment opportunities to cultivate internationally skilled talents.

Since 2012, the Ulsan Office of Education has annually dispatched third-year vocational high school students to Australia, operating various programs including English education, job training, field internships, and cultural experiences.

The 20 students who participated this year underwent 12 weeks of field training in Australia from August 25 to November, with 15 students completing employment and the remaining 5 temporarily returning to Korea to obtain working visas before heading back to Australia.

To provide diverse information to students participating in next year’s ‘Global Field Training,’ the Ulsan Office of Education held the ‘2024 Vocational High School Global Field Training Performance Report Meeting’ on the 19th at the Jiphyeon Room of the Office of Education.

About 60 attendees, including principals of schools participating in the global field training, participating students, dispatched teachers, and students hoping to participate next year, watched videos on life in Australia, job-specific training, interviews with local employed students and company representatives.

Students who temporarily returned shared their experiences in Australia and their plans for overseas employment, inspiring dreams and hope among the participants.

A student scheduled for local employment in Australia said, “The experience gained from working in diverse cultures helped improve my job skills. I hope students wishing to participate clearly set their goals for what they want to achieve abroad and participate in the program with a sense of responsibility.”

A second-year student shared, “Hearing the seniors’ experiences already excites me. I want to be selected next year and pursue my dreams overseas.”

Superintendent Cheon Chang-su stated, “Since the vocational high school global field training program has very high satisfaction among students and parents, we will continue to promote this project to support more students in realizing their dreams abroad.”

The ‘Vocational High School Global Field Training’ program is supported with over 90% of its budget by the Office of Education, and more than 80% of participating students each year succeed in overseas employment, establishing itself as a program that gives vocational high school students dreams and hope.
