Pilot Certification System Implemented This Year... Certification Confirmed for 3 Products

Three products, including Samsung Electronics' robot vacuum cleaner 'Bespoke AI Steam,' have been recognized for their excellent personal information protection features and received PbD certification.
The Personal Information Protection Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency held the 2024 Privacy by Design (PbD) certification award ceremony on the 19th at EL Tower in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Personal Information Protection Commission has been implementing a pilot PbD certification system since last year, granting certification to products with outstanding personal information protection functions. This year, after evaluation, testing of certification standards, and vulnerability remediation measures, three products were confirmed for certification.
The three products that obtained PbD certification are ▲ Antrap's personal video information de-identification system 'PrivacyPro' ▲ Block Odyssey's smart senior center kiosk 'Silver Kiosk' ▲ Samsung Electronics' robot vacuum cleaner 'Bespoke AI Steam.'
As a side event on the day, companies related to PbD certified products opened promotional booths to introduce and demonstrate their products.
Ko Hak-su, chairman of the Personal Information Protection Commission, stated, "As home appliances using video devices such as robot vacuum cleaners and IP cameras increase recently, strengthening personal information protection functions has become an important consideration for consumers," adding, "We will improve to ensure personal information is safely protected through PbD certification."
