LG Electronics is set to officially launch the world's first wireless and transparent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV, the 'LG SIGNATURE OLED T,' in the global market. Pre-orders have begun in North America, with sequential releases planned for key markets including Europe and Korea.

On the 19th, LG Electronics announced that starting with pre-orders in the North American market on the 18th (local time), the LG SIGNATURE OLED T will be sequentially released in Europe, Korea, and other regions. The product's shipping price is $59,999 (approximately 87 million KRW).
LG Electronics explained that the new product was designed considering customer demand to realize the intrinsic value of ultra-premium and to elevate the sophistication of spaces. It features a 77-inch (approximately 196 cm diagonal) 4K (3840×2160) resolution and the overwhelming picture quality of OLED. Both a transparent screen and wireless AV transmission and reception technology have been applied to the product.
The remote control allows easy switching between two screen modes: 'Black Screen Mode' and 'Transparent Mode.' When Black Screen Mode is activated, users can enjoy content such as movies and games in 77-inch 4K quality. When Transparent Mode is turned on, the black TV screen disappears, allowing the space behind the screen to be visible, harmonizing with the surrounding interior.
With the Always On Display (AOD) feature, users can enjoy dedicated content that offers a three-dimensional viewing experience not possible with conventional TVs. For example, when media art of swimming fish is displayed, the space behind the screen and the content overlap visually, creating a vivid sensation as if fish are swimming in the actual space.
The bar-shaped main body beneath the transparent OLED screen serves as a front display providing information such as scheduled viewing programs, currently playing music, weather, and time. When not watching TV, it can be used as a Bluetooth speaker with 4.2 channels and 60 watts (W) output.
Last year, LG introduced the world's first wireless AV transmission solution, enhancing the sense of openness unique to the transparent screen. Peripheral devices such as consoles and set-top boxes, which were previously connected to the TV main body, can now be connected to a separate 'Zero Connect Box' installed next to the sofa in the living room. All cables except for the power supply around the transparent screen have been eliminated. This solution transmits high-quality video at 4K resolution and 120 hertz (Hz) refresh rate without loss or delay.
AI performance has also been enhanced with the application of the AI processor Alpha 11. Alpha 11's OLED-specific picture and sound engine performance is more than four times higher than the previous Alpha 9. Based on LG's proprietary smart TV platform webOS, dedicated home screens, UI/UX (user interface/user experience), and content maximize the advantages of the transparent OLED TV.
The new product's dedicated webOS home screen separates content recommendation pages and displays them on a single screen to present information concisely. This product is the sixth LG SIGNATURE OLED TV. LG Electronics has led the evolution of TV form factors based on the strengths of OLED, which does not require a backlight.
Park Hyung-se, President of LG Electronics' MS Business Division, said, "The LG SIGNATURE OLED T is a product that removes unnecessary elements for customers and concentrates the best existing technologies that align with the essence of TV. Through LG Electronics' unique technological innovations, we will provide a customer experience worthy of the prestige of a TV admired by all.”
