About 200 people attended the event, including Kim Jeong-il, President and CEO of Kolon Global, Oh Se-hoon, Mayor of Seoul, Lee Soon-hee, Head of Gangbuk District Office, members of the Beondong Zones 1 to 5 union, and related personnel. The event included a groundbreaking ceremony, commemorative photo session, and inspection of key facilities.
Moa Town is a specialized housing maintenance project model by the Seoul Metropolitan Government that promotes redevelopment by combining old low-rise residential areas within 100,000㎡, where large-scale redevelopment is difficult, into one. Beondong Zones 1 to 5 were selected as the ‘Seoul Moa Town No. 1 Pilot Project Site’ in 2022 and are scheduled for completion and move-in by 2028.
Kolon Global plans to initially supply 1,242 households through Beondong 1st Phase Zones 1 to 5, which have a site area of 39,509㎡. Adding the connected orders for Beondong 2nd Phase Zones 6 to 10, a total of approximately 97,000㎡ will be developed into a large-scale Kolon Haneulchae brand town with about 2,620 households. This area is adjacent to Opaesan Mountain, Uicheon Stream, and Buk Seoul Dream Forest, providing a pleasant residential environment, and is close to educational and administrative infrastructure such as Susong Elementary School, Susong Middle School, Gangbuk District Office, and Gangbuk Police Station.
Starting with Beondong Zone 1 in 2020, Kolon Global has secured orders for a total of 10 sites up to Zone 10. It has also secured construction rights for two of seven zones in Cheonho-dong Moa Town (385 households) and three of eight zones in Myeonmok-dong Moa Town Zones 3-1 to 3 (702 households), solidifying its position in the Moa Town projects. This year, Kolon Global achieved urban maintenance project orders worth 665.7 billion KRW.
A Kolon Global official stated, "We will devote all our capabilities to the Beondong pilot project, the first Moa Town in Seoul, and prove the excellence of Haneulchae through its successful completion. Starting with Beondong, we will continue to expand the Haneulchae brand towns within Seoul, including Cheonho-dong in Gangdong-gu and Myeonmok-dong in Jungnang-gu."
Meanwhile, Kolon Global recorded new orders worth 3.8 trillion KRW as of the third quarter of this year. The order backlog as of the third quarter stands at 13.6 trillion KRW, securing more than five years of sales based on last year’s revenue of 2.7 trillion KRW.
